Drywall Screws FAQs:

1. What are the differences between coarse-thread and fine-thread dry wall screws?
Coarse-thread screws are ideal for wood studs and for providing a strong grip, while fine-thread screws are better suited for metal studs due to their tighter threading.

2. How far apart should I space dry wall screws?
For walls, space screws 16 inches apart on the field and 8 inches on the edges. For ceilings, space them 12 inches apart on the field and 7 to 8 inches on the edges.

3. Do I need to pre-drill holes for drywall screws?
Pre-drilling isn't generally necessary for dry wall screws, especially when using a dry wall screw gun. However, for very hard materials or to prevent splitting, pre-drilling might be beneficial.

4. Can I use drywall screws for other materials?
While possible, it is not recommended. Dry wall screws are designed for dry wall and may not provide optimal performance in other materials.

5. What length of drywall screw should I use?
The screw should be at least 10mm longer than the thickness of the drywall to ensure a secure hold.
